Risdall Sandstrom Media Works emerges as new media powerhouse
NEW BRIGHTON, MINN. – As Risdall Advertising Agency recently shifted to form Risdall Marketing Group, LLC (RMG), seven divisions were created under RMG to show the agency’s breadth of offerings for clients. To fill out the suite, Risdall Sandstrom Media Works (RSMW) was created.
However, media planning, buying/negotiation and schedule stewardship is far from a “new” offering for the 35-year-old agency.
“Each division is led by a visionary leader like Jim Sandstrom, who is one of the legends in Twin Cities media,” said John Risdall, CEO and COO, RMG. “Our goal is to be world class and have the ability to get an ‘A+’ on any media assignment, whether it is old media or new media.”
In fact, Sandstrom, president, RSMW, holds 39 years of advertising media experience. That includes being the first media director at Fallon McElligott Rice (now Fallon) where he built a 34-person media department and was responsible for billings in excess of $60 million annually.
“Clients’ media interests can vary from individual projects to being used in conjunction with other Risdall marketing services,” said Sandstrom, who joined Risdall Advertising Agency in June 2005. “The restructure of RMG better shows how RSMW can accommodate to a range of media buying and planning needs to build our clients’ businesses.”
Sandstrom has spent time on both the agency and client-side of the media desk, from Campbell-Mithun, Martin-Williams and BBDO, to Nordic Track. Working within a broad spectrum, he has built a long history and respect with media vendors and the sales community.
