FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: RAA EMPLOYEES CAPTURE REGIONAL TITLE, COMPETE FOR NATIONAL TITLE NEW BRIGHTON, MN (April 27, 2006) -- Risdall congratulates University of Minnesota students Carolyn Ahlstrom and Shannon Brown on their involvement in the U of M first place finish at the regional-level of the National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC) on Sat., April 22. Carolyn, RAA account executive, and Shannon, RAA interactive and web development intern, will travel with teammates to San Francisco, Calif., to compete against 15 other regional school winners for the prestigious national title. The U of M team consists of 27 students; Shannon serves as the team captain, and both Shannon and Carolyn are two of six presenters on the team. From the assignment in September to the regional competition in April, the U of M team spent an estimated 6,000 hours working on the winning campaign. This year’s NSAC corporate sponsor was Postal Vault, a privately owned company that manufactures, sells and distributes postal receptacles designed to protect mail packages. Two hundred fifteen schools nationwide each created a strategic communications plan for Postal Vault. The complete plans included everything from marketing research to advertising to public relations. Carolyn, Shannon and about 20 other U of M team members will make the trip to present their campaign at nationals in San Francisco on June 11 - 12.
