University of Minnesota – Duluth: Bachelor of Fine Arts
Kara is a tried and true Minnesotan, born and raised in North Oaks with her family. Kara is the oldest of the 3 sisters, leaving her father to be the only male in the household. “Poor Dad, even our dog is female.” She attended high school outside of her hometown at Mounds View – “Yea, it was High School, what more can I say?”
Kara often seems quiet and reserved, but when she is outside of the workplace she roams Where the Wild Things Are, living like the world is her oyster.
Before entering the gates of Risdall during college, Kara was a waitress at the Great American Bar & Grill, where she had an intimate moment with a variety of salad dressings. Carrying mounds and mounds of salads, she dropped every plate and became quickly acquainted with the floor in front of her table of 20. But without moments like these, Kara would not have developed her sense of stability and thoroughness that she has brought to Risdall today.
As most undergraduates do it in 5, tackling her degree in 4 and a half years
Her experience and creative knowledge in graphic design has prepared her for the intense hoopla that the advertising world demands. Kara’s unique wisdom in photography opens eyes to new surroundings and unexpected perspectives. She is a catalyst in working openly and diligently with others, listening to the stream of innovative ideas that flow throughout the agency, and rapidly feeding out images to integrate fresh material that is to be delivered.
“Oh God… Everything.” When Kara first stepped foot into this Candy Land, she knew it was meant to be. However, the “pop fridge” is her real sector of playing favorites.
