Before joining RAA, Deb worked at Bethel College as an intern in their Graphics Department, as a lifeguard at the YMCA and at the St. Paul Courthouse. Her favorite job at the Courthouse was operating the old wooden elevators which needed manual operators to run.
Deb is an active member of the congregation at North Haven Church. She enjoys working with youth and was a gymnastics coach at the YMCA. She also coaches high school and Junior Olympic volleyball teams. She has spent many hours in a gym coaching or watching her two oldest daughters play volleyball. She now spends time in an ice arena watching her youngest daughter figure skate, or at the soccer field cheering on the team.
Deb's numerous feats include All-Conference Volleyball in 1976 and 1977, Most Valuable Volleyball Player in 1977 and 1981.
Deb's husband, Bob, works at Horizon Technologies. Deb, Bob, Marnie, Carrie and Jessica cohabitate with the critters that make up their menagerie: Gizmo the dog and Mittens the cat. Marnie and Carrie are currently priming themselves for the real world: Marnie attends the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse, while Carrie is at the University of North Dakota.
Deb is a homebody who enjoys her family and friends. Her three girls and their activities take up most of her free time, but she and Bob always find time to walk the dog at night, which gives them time to catch up on the day. Deb is the continuous horsepower as the team manager for Jessie's synchronized skating team, the chaperone for out-of-town competitions, and as a co-chairman for the Figure Skating Club's Spring Show every year.
