Overview:

Cydney's responsibilities are many and include monitoring online brand reputations, building customized marketing plans based on new media strategy, and engaging with consumers on behalf of clients on a wide variety of social media platforms. She is also instrumental in creating and sustaining media relations - both traditional and online, with bloggers, as well as creating social media maps rooted deeply in online research, creating awareness, spreading key messages in a constantly evolving online environment and creating media lists which blend traditional publications and outlets with the most relevant blogs and communities.

University of Minnesota: Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communication with an emphasis on Public Relations and a Minor in Spanish Studies

Pre RMG:

Before joining the Risdall team, Cydney worked as an Account Intern at AB Group One Advertising for just under a year. While there, she developed a strong interest for creative freedom, integration, interactivity and agency life. Her primary responsibilities there included creating a new brand from scratch for a major spirits provider in the U.S.

Notable Achievements at Risdall:

  • Cydney was called upon to engage consumers using social media on behalf of a client that was launching a brand new product in a very immature market. As a part of the integrated marketing campaign, the product received significant national media coverage almost immediately after the product launch as a result of the product's Twitter account. By monitoring what was being said about the product, Cydney was able to reach out to a local television reporter who had tweeted about the product, which resulted in the reporter covering the story in a feature that very night. That feature went on to spread virally like wildfire, and over the next two weeks, the product was featured on The Today Show, The Chelsea Lately Show, dozens of local news shows and radio programs and the website received more than 30,000 visits in a single day.

  • As part of an ongoing relationship with a local health care organization, Cydney was tasked with monitoring and reporting online sentiment and scope of coverage during a communications crisis. As a result of daily efforts to keep the client informed of the vitality of their online brand, the client was able to keep the damage to a minimum, sharply decrease the spread of false information and better understand who their largest online critics are.

Cydney is related to Danny Wuerffel who won the 1996 Heisman Trophy and later played for several National Football League teams.
