Life Before Risdall:
While a student, Crystal interned at Alternative Mortgage Options in Hudson, WI and The Red Wing Republican Eagle in Red Wing, MN where she successfully wrote marketing plans for both companies.
Crystal also volunteered in the marketing communications department at Hudson Hospital, where she assisted with event coordination, executed media relations tactics and wrote a public relations plan.
Crystal gained additional experience during a two-year tenure at Group Leaf LLC in Hudson, WI where she honed a variety of public relations skills.
Take a Bow:
At Group Leaf, Crystal successfully pitched to various Twin Cities media in an effort to promote Minnesota-grown turkey for her client, the Minnesota Turkey Growers Association. During the 2005 Minnesota State Fair, the organization reached a total estimated audience of 1,209,016 people through a variety of media channels including TV, radio and newspapers.
I'll Never Forget:
As a native of southwest Minnesota, Crystal fulfilled her desire to travel outside of the United States by studying abroad in both Mexico and Spain. Most memorable moment overseas? Touring the European Union Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. Favorite new food? Tortilla Espanola!
Favorite Candy at RAA:
Actually, Crystal prefers her sweets in a liquid form - especially Mountain Dew.
The Good Life:
A real people person, Crystal also enjoys playing volleyball and softball, watching hockey, hiking in Willow River State Park, traveling, discovering new restaurants and reading (mostly non-fiction). She is also soon to be wed and will assume the name, Nutt. ("Yeah, I know...ha, ha.")
